First years of activity

2020-09-25

Exactly a year ago, in 2019, September 25th, Juozas Kavaliauskas Memorial Charitable Foundation was established. It was created after the loss of a brother, friend, colleague and the Lewben Group family member Juozas Kavaliauskas.

This painful personal loss encouraged the foundations founders Vilius Kavaliauskas and Rita Kavaliauskienė to take initiative and help other families and their children, who are currently fighting an oncological disease, to ease the everyday struggle and even overcome the sickness.

Throughout all this time, the foundation worked closely together with the Rimantas Kaukėnas charity group and charity foundation “Mothers’ Union”. During the partnership we had the opportunity to contribute to multiple charity projects, help specific children as well as, due to the COVID-19 situation, react quickly and support those, who are the most vulnerable. This was achieved by purchasing various resources dedicated for protection and sent to the National Cancer Institute, Kaunas Clinics children’s oncology sector, as well as the adult oncology sector, Vilniaus Santaros hospital children’s oncohematology sector and senior retirement care homes. Moreover, a large proportion of the resources travelled to various homes throughout Lithuania, into the homes of the severely sick children and their families.

Today we would like to express appreciation to not only our partners – Rimantas Kaukėnas charity group and charity foundation “Mothers’ Union”, but also to other enterprises and individuals who support the Juozas Kavaliauskas Memorial Charitable Foundation initiative: „Lewben Group“, „Enercom Capital“, NordgainStrategy LabsLewben Art FoundationNuostabuAuksinė dovanėlėDu BroliaiI M P L M N TWe Are Marketing ir Šeškaitis.

We thank all who were together with us! The new year of the foundation will embark with even more optimism to change the everyday reality of children who suffer from oncological diseases and celebrate together the victories won against this vicious illness.
